Meredith Rey and Barry Potts join forces as Torch and Tyne, a name that reflects their unique backgrounds, with “Torch” representing Meredith’s classic torch singing style and “Tyne” referencing Barry’s childhood home along the River Tyne. This transatlantic musical duo unites the Great American songbook with the musical brilliance of the British legends.
Meet The Duo

Meredith Rey
Cabaret and torch song vocalist with roots in Texas and a timeless style inspired by greats like Peggy Lee and Vera Lynn, now based in London England and stepping into a new chapter of performance.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I began my vocal training at age 11 and quickly found my comedic and melodic home in musical theatre. In 2020, I relocated to London England and embraced the opportunity to pursue my singing career more fully. My style draws deeply from the golden age of Torch songs, Broadway, and Cabaret. Whether reviving timeless standards or reimagining lesser-known gems, I bring storytelling, soul and sometimes a needed laugh to every performance.
